What additional features are included with a school site license?
With a school site license you’ll have a school dashboard page which provides you with analytics information for all students in the school and the ability to manage teachers, classes, and students.

Also, you will have the ability to bulk-upload users and automatically assign them to classes and teachers. Another feature of the school license is the ability to set school-wide competitions to help build a sense of community between your learners.

Teachers have a dashboard page of their own to manage their classes and students. Also, teachers have full access to the analytics toolkit to view student progress. They also have the ability to create competitions and set assignments for their classes.
Can users access from anywhere and on any device?
Learn League is web-based so most phones, tablets, and computers with a modern operating system and browser will work. We support both touch input as well as mouse and keyboard input. Android, iOS, Windows and Mac OS have all been tested with most common browsers.

Learn League has no regional restrictions so as long as your device is connected to the internet you will be able to learn, compete and succeed!
What are mastery and difficulty scaling?
Mastery is our way of understanding how well a student grasps a concept. Our mastery calculation is a mathematical model based on research around concept retention and skills assessment. The mastery value for each user is constantly updated as the user interacts with the system and we use this information to tailor the learning experience to the individual.

Difficulty scaling is the way Learn League creates a unique set of questions and worksheets for each individual learner. By analyzing the mastery value associated with a concept, we generate questions that anticipate a learner’s grasp of a concept and try to push the user a little bit further.

For schools, we use the mastery calculation to provide an estimate of mastery by subject, topic and Common Core Standard. These estimates are then used to provide insight to students, teachers and schools about expected standardized test results.
How do questions get “harder”?
There is no single method to provide difficulty scaling across all worksheets and questions. We employ a variety of tools to make questions more difficult and complex. An example would be a question that requires the user to answer a multiple choice question at lower difficulty, compute a numerical response at higher difficulty and compose a unique mathematical expression at the highest difficulty level.

We’ve based our work on Bloom’s taxonomy of learning. This means that we look for students to be able to recall at lower difficulty, compute at the medium difficulty, and create at the highest difficulty levels.
